A judge of the Circuit of Cartagena circuit approved the preliminary agreement between the Office of the Attorney General and Josué David Quintana Berrío, who pleaded guilty to aggravated femicide, and sentenced him to 32 years in prison.
The facts under investigation took place on July 8 in a house in the area of Pasacaballos, in Bolívar. There, the defendant, 24 years old, caused multiple injuries with a sharp weapon to his sentimental partner due to jealousy. The woman, 33 years old, died when she was transferred to a medical center.
Quintana Berrío turned himself in to authorities one day after committing the crime and is currently deprived of his liberty in San Sebastián Ternera prison in Cartagena.
