They would be responsible for the kidnapping and torture of a man that occurred in January of this year.

The Attorney General’s Office brought three alleged members of the criminal organization ‘Los Mexicanos’ before a judge as alleged responsible for kidnappings and other criminal acts that occurred in Chocó.

The people involved are: Miguel Moreno Chaverra, alias Neneguetto, alleged leader of the illegal group; Vladimir Moreno Salazar and Dilson Tunay Tape. The Prosecutor’s Office charged these men with aggravated kidnapping, torture and forced displacement. They did not plead guilty to the charges, and the three defendants must serve a sentence in prison.

Investigations show that these people participated in the kidnapping of a citizen, on January 26 of this year, in Quibdó (Chocó). The victim was forced to leave his place of residence, in the El Caraño neighborhood; he was taken to a rural area and subjected to degrading treatment, which was recorded on video with cell phones. At the same time, the family was threatened in order to pay a sum of money for his release.

Finally, the kidnapped man was released; however, together with his loved ones, he had to abandon the property where he lived and leave the city to avoid a new attack.
