With the signing of this memorandum, the inter-institutional cooperation ties are strengthened to combat crimes such as drug trafficking, human trafficking, transnational sexual crimes, cybercrime, money laundering, among others.
The Attorney General, Francisco Barbosa Delgado, and representatives of the Australian Federal Police signed a memorandum of understanding that will strengthen the fight against transnational organized crime in the two countries.
Both countries will be able to exchange information, increase abilities and professional development, training courses, advisory and conduct joint operations about all types of transnational crime, enquiries, among others, with this international cooperation agreement.
This work will be focused on the fight against crimes such as terrorism and related activities, drug trafficking, human trafficking, transnational sexual crimes, cybercrimes, money laundering, transnational economic crime and search of assets, identity theft and firearms trafficking.
In Colombia, the signature was carried out in the presence of the Australian Ambassador to Colombia, Erika Thompson; the director of the Australian Federal Police, James Strokes; the Liaison Officer, Paul Wheeler and Program Assistant Diana Plazas.
The Commissioner Reece P Kershaw APM signed the cooperation agreement with the Attorney General’ Office in Colombia from Australia.
The Deputy Attorney General, Martha Janeth Mancera; the director of International Affairs, Gonzalo Gómez Escobar, and the national director of CTI, Alberto Acevedo Quintero participated on behalf of the Office of the Attorney General in Colombia.
