The organizations known as ‘Los del Puente’ and ‘Los Loros’ were allegedly in charge of trafficking narcotics in different areas of Tolima.
Prosecutors belonging to the Support Office and Anti-Narcotics units of the Sectional Office in Tolima arrested 12 people, allegedly involved in trafficking cocaine, marijuana and bazuco. Information at the Office of the Attorney General’s disposal showed that drug trafficking networks sold narcotics in several neighborhoods of Cajamarca. It was also determined that they stored the substances under the bridge that connects this municipality with Ibagué, in San Luis and El Guamo.
Judicial police work allowed the arrest of ‘Los del Puente’. The National Police conducted the arrest of six alleged members of this network in five search proceedings in Cajamarca. During the operations, several doses of cocaine, cash, elements used to measure the dosage and a homemade firearm were seized.
The illegal substances were camouflaged under the bridge, in the dealers’ clothes and in their private parts. In this way, they sought to evade the controls of the authorities. These illegal actions were carried out in Las Ferias, 20 de Julio, and Anaime neighborhoods.
On the other hand, the joint work of the Air Force, Police and the National Army allowed the arrest of six alleged members of ‘Los Loros’ in San Luis and Guamo (Tolima). Three traumatic pistols, ammunition and suppliers, in addition to different quantities of bazuco and marijuana were seized. A motorcycle was also seized.
The defendants were charged with aggravated conspiracy to commit crimes, drug trafficking and possession of firearms, in each case. None pleaded guilty to the charges.
