They are allegedly responsible for shooting several people who were talking in the front garden of a home and later celebrating the result of the criminal action.

The Attorney General’s Office achieved the prosecution of Diego Fernando Acevedo Lennis, alias Chiqui; and Cristian Steven Suárez Gómez, alias El Indio, alleged members of the criminal group ‘Nueva Generación’, who would be involved in a triple homicide that occurred on June 2, in Cartago (Valle del Cauca).

The evidence indicates that these men went to the El Remanso neighborhood and allegedly shot, from a motorcycle, at several people who were in the front garden of a home. As a result of the armed attack, three people died and two more were injured.

Subsequently, ‘Chiqui’ and ‘El Indio’ fled. They would have gone celebrating the action.

Due to these events, they were arrested in proceedings carried out jointly with the National Police in Cartago and Guacarí (Valle del Cauca). A prosecutor from the so-called Dirección de Apoyo Territorial (Support Directorate) charged them with aggravated homicide, attempted homicide; and manufacture, trafficking, possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition.

The defendants did not plead guilty to the charges, and a preventive detention in prison was issued.
