Reynaldo Pérez Palacio is wanted by virtue of an Interpol red notice. He was arrested by CTI investigators in a hotel in Bogotá.

A joint work of the Attorney General’s Office, through the Fiscalía Superior Especializada en Delitos Relacionados con Drogas del Ministerio Público de Panamá (Specialized Directorate against Drug Trafficking) located Reynaldo Pérez Palacio, alias Rey, alleged ringleader of a criminal network accused of sending tons of cocaine hydrochloride to the United States, and countries in Europe and Central America.

This national of Panama was arrested by CTI investigators in a hotel located in Chapinero, Bogotá, in response to an Interpol red notice issued by the authorities in Panama who are prosecuting him for charges related to money laundering and drug trafficking.

The international request specifies that alias Rey had at his disposal a structure that camouflaged cocaine in containers, cargo vehicles and planes that transported merchandise from Panama to different destinations.

Likewise, it was learned that he visited Dubai and other countries often to establish contacts for transnational cocaine trafficking. Pérez Palacio, apparently, received money payments through international transfers that were triangulated to European and American banks, finally reaching the Panama banking system.

This result complemented the work carried out by the authorities in Panama, in the so-called ‘Exodo’ and ‘Ballena’ operations, which allowed the arrest of 51 people, the seizure of 10 firearms, ammunition, high-end vehicles and more than 140,000 dollars in cash.
