After approving the evidence provided by a specialized prosecutor assigned to the sectional office in Bolívar, a judge imposed a detention measure in prison against Erika Marcela Contreras Sierra, an alleged member of the Nicolás Antonio Urango Reyes substructure of the ‘Clan del Golfo’ which commits crimes in Cartagena.

According to the investigation, it was established that within this criminal structure the 29-year-old woman would be in charge of identifying the victims of hitmen, transporting and storing the weapons for the commission of these homicides, and storing the narcotics of the organization.

Among the facts in which she allegedly participated is the one that took place on March 4, 2023 in a public establishment in the Olaya Herrera neighborhood, where unknown armed men killed a man and injured two other people, including a minor.

Likewise, it is believed that she had an influence in the crime committed on February 3, 2023 at the Bomba del Gallo gas station, where a 31-year-old motorcycle taxi driver was shot to death.

During the preliminary hearings, the Prosecutor’s Office charged her with aggravated conspiracy, homicide, attempted homicide, personal injury to a minor, manufacturing or possession of firearms and trafficking, manufacturing or possession of narcotics. She did not plead guilty.

Contreras Sierra was arrested by virtue of a court order in Usme, Bogotá, by the National Police.

She must serve her sentence in a prison in Sincelejo (Sucre).
