At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, a judge imposed a detention measure in prison against Jairo Medina Valencia, alias Tuerto, an alleged member of FARC dissidents who would be extorting in Huila.
The criminal acts would be related to the delivery of pamphlets in several municipalities, as well as extortive calls that the arrested man apparently made to merchants, farmers and residents in the municipalities of Nátaga, Palermo, Teruel and Iquira, demanding between 700,000 and 1 million COP.
Alias Tuerto would be a member of the Ismael Ruiz front belonging to Jacobo Arenas Western Bloc of the FARC dissidents, commanded by alias El Indio, and who commits crimes in the northwest area of the department.
Gaula-National Police arrested Medina Valencia in the municipality of Teruel (Huila).
The Prosecutor’s Office charged him with aggravated criminal conspiracy, aggravated extortion and attempted aggravated extortion.
