According to the evidence provided by a prosecutor assigned to the Sectional Office, a judge imposed a prison sentence on Mauricio Alduver Villada Correa, 46, allegedly responsible for the murder of councilman Brayan Duván Medina Ospina.

The facts took place on April 7 when the defendant entered a commercial establishment in Viterbo (Caldas) where the victim was allegedly shot by Villada Correa.

The National Police arrested the defendant in flagrante delicto and a firearm, allegedly used during the attack, was found near the scene. The investigation determined that this person did not have a gun permit.

The Prosecutor’s Office charged Villada Correa with aggravated homicide, manufacture, trafficking and possession of firearms or ammunition. The defendant did not plead guilty.
