After accepting the arguments of the Prosecutor’s Office, a judge issued a detention measure against Helio Uriel Endes Rincón, for his alleged responsibility in the crime of extortion.
The man was arrested in flagrante delicto on November 8 in the urban area of the municipality of Tame (Arauca), by the Gaula-National Police, in coordination with National Army, when they allegedly collected the sum of six million pesos, as a result of an extortion to a citizen of that municipality.
Within the investigative process, the Prosecutor’s Office found that the defendant demanded money from the victim days before, through visits and delivery of pamphlets in exchange for not threatening his life or his family.
At the end of the hearing, the defendant did not plead guilty to the charges brought by the Prosecutor’s Office and he was sent to prison.
