Among the perpetrators is a woman who, apparently, participated in the economic demands made on citizens in Majagual, Guaranda and Sucre (Sucre).
Jonais Manuel Villarreal Mercado, Luis Daniel Soto Balmaceda and Brenda Vanessa Aguas Polanco were brought before judge in Sincelejo, to whom a specialized prosecutor charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated criminal conspiracy with extortion purposes.
According to the file, the perpetrators demanded from merchants and ranchers, sums that ranged between 100 thousand COP and one million COP, in order to avoid an attack against the integrity or family members or against their commercial establishments.
Likewise, it was established that the accused allegedly operated in Majagual, Sucre and Guaranda, in Sucre.
After the preliminary hearings, the judge imposed a prison sentence on Villarreal Mercado and Soto Balmaceda. For her part, Aguas Polanco was ordered to serve home confinement.
Her arrest was carried out by Gaula officials of the National Police in Sincelejo on September 27 of this year, while Villareal Mercado and Soto Balmaceda were arrested in Guaranda on the same day.
