The evidence provided by the Attorney General’s Office allowed a judge from Girón (Santander) to sentence Odair Martínez Gámez, responsible for the murder of Amando Rodríguez Almeyda, to 34 years and 4 months in prison.

The facts that led to the sentence occurred on November 30, 2014 in a commercial establishment in the village of Río Sucio in the municipality of Girón (Santander), where this person and the victim had a discussion in which the former shot Rodríguez Almeyda, causing his death.

Once the crime was committed, the aggressor fled the place, therefore his prosecution was as an absent person. For these facts, the Prosecutor’s Office charged the defendant with aggravated homicide and illegal possession of weapons.

Along with the sentence, court of Bucaramanga issued an arrest warrant.
