The Attorney General’s Office obtained evidence that shows the alleged participation of four alleged members of the Arístides Manuel Meza Páez structure of the so-called ‘Clan del Golfo’, in the murder of the social leader Narciso Beleño Belaides, recorded on April 21, in Santa Rosa (Bolívar).
the people involved are Nicolás Giraldo Quintero, alias Cartago; Juan Carlos Castaño Cardona, alias Calvo or Paisa; Nelson Fernando Gutiérrez Arismendi, alias Malito or Matón; and Yenifer Barragán Correa.
A prosecutor of the Special Investigation Unit (Unidad Especial de Investigación UEI) charged these people with aggravated homicide; manufacture, trafficking, possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition; and conspiracy to commit a crime. Alias Malito or Matón pleaded guilty to the charges.
According to the investigation, the victim entered his house’s parking and was attacked by armed men who shot him seven times. Previously, the social leader had received several threatening pamphlets in the name of the so-called ‘Clan del Golfo’, in which they questioned him for the work he performed as president of the so-called Federación Agrominera del Sur de Bolívar (Agromisbol).
The Attorney General’s Office moves forward in the development of a hearing for requesting a preventive detention measure against the four defendants.
