The Sectional Office in Norte de Santander of the Attorney General’s Office charged Alejandro Peña Olave, Joel Alberto Márquez Morales and Jaiker Julio Olave Rodríguez as allegedly responsible for the crime of possession of firearms.

A judge in Cúcuta (Norte de Santander) accepted the arguments presented by the Prosecutor’s Office and imposed a prison sentence on the three defendants.

The men were arrested in flagrante delicto on September 14 in the Libertadores neighborhood of Tibú (Norte de Santander) by Army and National Police personnel when they were carrying out control and registration procedures.

In the proceeding, they seized a pistol, five cartridges, and a magazine with a capacity for 17 cartridges, which were found in the back of the vehicle used by the defendants.

In preliminary hearings, those investigated did not plead guilty and were sent to the Modelo prison in this city.
