The prosecuted people, apparently, took the lives of people who were also engaged in the sale of narcotics, but who belonged to other groups in order to guarantee territorial control and the predominance of the commercialization of those illegal substances.

The Attorney General, Francisco Barbosa Delgado announced an important result obtained thanks to a joint effort between the Attorney General´s Office, led by the Delegate Director on Public Safety and the Judicial Police (Sijín), in which 15 alleged members of the criminal organization known as “Los Camilos” were arrested. They allegedly committed selective homicides to have territorial control of the commercialization of narcotics in places such as Bosa, Kennedy, Tunjuelito, south area of Bogotá, and in Soacha (Cundinamarca) and Flanders (Tolima).

“It is good news for citizens in Bogotá the fact that the Attorney General’s Office has acted in this way with the Police,” announced the Attorney General Barbosa.

According to the investigation, the modus operandi consisted in that the administrator of the drugs identified the person of another criminal group who was selling the merchandise in the area; the administrator informed the leader, and the leader ordered the hitmen to approach the victim by disguising themselves as alleged buyers and then they killed them.

It was known that this structure had different roles, with specific salaries. The homicides were also paid according to kind the victim, ranging between $ 100,000 up to $ 5,000,000. The highest price was paid for killing the leader of another criminal gang. The killings, apparently, were ordered by Néstor Aguirre, alias Camilo, the alleged leader of the organization, who is linked to 16 facts committed during 2021.

According to the investigation carried out during 7 months and interceptions, “Los Camilos” sold around 10,000 capsules of narcotic drugs per day, receiving $2,100,000,000 per month.

According to the investigation, this criminal group operated in different neighborhoods in Bosa such as: San José, Brasil, Porvenir, Santafé, Carbonell, Piamonte, San Bernardino, El Tropezón, La Despensa, Libertad, La María, Naranjos, Recreo and Los Olivos.

It was proved that they operated in Kennedy specifically in La Alquería, El Class, Ciudad Roma, La Rivera, Bellavista, Patio Bonito, La 38, El Tintal, Tierra Buena, Los Tubos, Caracol and Dindalito, also in Venecia- Tunjuelito, in  sectors such as Ciudad Verde and León XIII- Soacha. The arrested people are linked to 16 homicides.

After collecting all the evidence, the authorities began the operations and on October 6th the first arrest warrant was issued against the alleged leader of the criminal group, Néstor Aguirre, alias Camilo.

The Attorney General’s Office charged him with aggravated homicide, aggravated conspiracy to commit a crime, and aggravated manufacture, trafficking, possession of firearms or ammunition. The defendant did not plead guilty to the charges. The 50th Municipal Judge imposed a prison sentence.

Another 14 arrested people were brought before other judges and were charged with aggravated homicide, aggravated conspiracy to commit a crime, and manufacture, trafficking, possession of aggravated firearms. The defendants did not plead guilty to the charges, and they were sent to prison.

“With this, the Attorney General’s Office tells the citizens that the institution is acting with determination, it acting in the streets, in the neighborhoods, in the parks, in the territories”, concluded the Attorney General.
