A judge with supervisory functions in Armenia approved the arguments presented by the Office of the Attorney General and imposed a prison sentence against José Andrés Pinto Ramírez, alias ‘Morra’, ‘Mazamorra’ or ‘El Enano’, an alleged member of the gang denominated killers.

This person was charged by the Office of the Attorney General with aggravated murder with series of similar crimes committed against two victims; attempted aggravated homicide of an adolescent and aggravated manufacturing, trafficking, and possession of firearms in consistent sequence of serial crime. The defendant did not plead guilty to the charges.

The defendant was allegedly in charge of alerting the members of the criminal organization about the presence of the authorities in the places where they would commit murders, as a territorial control strategy for drug trafficking.

As a result of the operations carried out against the Killers gang, the Office of the Attorney General has prosecuted 23 members who were deprived of their liberty.
