As part of his strategy, ‘En la calle y en los territorios’ (near people and the territories), the Attorney General, Francisco Barbosa Delgado, and his executive staff arrived in Caquetá to analyze the strategies in the fight against drug trafficking, criminal organizations, and against those who affect natural resources.

During the trip, The Attorney General held meetings with the commanders of the operative and special groups assigned by the military forces in this area of ​​the country. He visited the military base Fuerte Militar Larandia, IDEMA of Fuerza de Tarea Conjunta Omega in Cartagena del Chairá, and also learned details of the Artemisa military operation. The objective was to establish joint intervention plans against criminal phenomena such as deforestation, murders and illicit crops.

Subsequently, the Attorney General Barbosa announced in the Sectional Office in Caquetá that investigations about the murder of five people that took place in the last hours in the municipality of Andes (Antioquia) have begun: “Like in all cases, I have prioritized and designated itinerant special teams to clarify what happened. In the course of 2020 and 2021, we have solved collective murders reaching a clarification rate of more than 70%”.

Likewise, he revealed other important results obtained in the clarification of collective murders. In three days, three men accused of participating in three murders that took place in Valle del Cauca and Cauca were arrested and sent to jail.

Results concerning the crime that took place in Cali

Luis Fernando Córdoba Garcés, alias Rojo; and Henry González Gómez, alias Carreta, were arrested by judicial police officers of the National Police. A supervisory judge imposed a prison sentence.

These two men were involved in the murder of three people which took place in a market in Santa Elena neighborhood in Cali. In that sense, they were charged with aggravated murder, attempted murder, and manufacture, trafficking, or possession of firearms.

According to the evidence, ‘Rojo’ and ‘Carreta’ were part of a group that on January 12, shot the victims several times. In that action, another person was injured.

Alias Chorizo

At the request of the Office of the Attorney General, a supervisory judge sentenced Jamer Duván Guetió Collazos, alias Chorizo, an alleged member of the dissident group known as Columna Jaime Martínez, to serve a prison term.

This man is accused of participating in two different events in which 10 people were victims. Alias ​​Chorizo ​​was charged with aggravated murder, aggravated criminal conspiracy and manufacture, trafficking, or possession of firearms for the exclusive use of the armed forces. The defendant did not plead guilty.

Offenses:

  1. The murder of 4 people in the rural area of Villa Colombia, Jamundí (Valle del Cauca). On October 9, 2020, armed men arrived in vans and motorcycles in a farm and shot four people. Later, the corpses were abandoned in a lonely place located 15 minutes away from the property. Thirteen days after the crime, the Office of the Attorney General achieved the prosecution of alias El Indio, Niño Malo, and alias Chavo or Bayron.
  2. On September 21, 2020, alleged members of the residual group, Columna Jaime Martínez, shot and threw grenades at several people who were sharing in the rural area of Munchique, Buenos Aires (Cauca). Six young men, whose ages ranged from 17 to 24, died. For these same events, alias Chuky and alias Sebastián were arrested.

Jamer Duván Guetió Collazos, alias Chorizo, was arrested as a result of a joint operation carried out by the Office of the Attorney General, Sijín National Police and the Army´s Special Forces (Fuerzas Especiales de la Tercera Brigada del Ejército Nacional).
