The investigations carried out by the Office of the Attorney General, in conjunction with the National Police, allowed them to locate three buildings in Buesaco (Nariño) where they allegedly  intended to prepare drug traffickers “drug couriers” or traffickers to transport camouflaged drugs to Ecuador.

Inside the homes, heroin packages, a significant number of drug-filled pellets, a firearm, a pellet gun, cartridges, a uniform for the exclusive use of the military forces, among other items, were found.

Five people were arrested in the home searches. The evidence shows that they would be part of the structure of Ebelio Fernández, known as ‘Zar de la Heroina en Nariño’, who would have links with ELN structures to control the production of this drug in the department and to coordinate its transportation abroad.

A prosecutor from the Special Office against Criminal Organizations charged the detainees with the manufacture, trafficking, possessing firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition, and aggravated drug trafficking, manufacture, and possession. The supervisory judge issued house arrest against the defendants due to the emergency generated by Covid – 19.

Decision affects:  Jairo Fernández García, brother of the so-called ‘Zar de la Heroina en Nariño’; Enar Ordóñez Cortés, Lizbeth Cecilia Muñoz Gómez, Arbey Gómez Gómez, and Nebardo Alirio Gómez Muñoz.
