Proceedings will be carried out during the month of October.

Concerning investigations carried out by the Office of the Attorney General to clarify facts which led to the forced disappearance of 101 inmates from the so-called Modelo prison in Bogotá, on June 19 and November 2, 2001, the prosecutor hearing the case decided to summon four employees of the National Prison (Inpec) in order to make a statement.

People summoned are:

  1. General (r), Fabio Campo Silva

General Director of Inpec from February 16, 2000 to July 6, 2001.

  1. Major (r), Jaime Gallo Zuleta

Inpec´s external advisor 2000-2001.

  1. Colonel (r), Luis Bernardo Maldonado Bernate

Assistant Director-General of Inpec between April 20, 1999 and July 5, 2001.

  1. Reinaldo Fierro Rico

Director of the so-called Modelo prison in Bogotá from November 5, 1999 to July 6, 2000.

On the other hand, a bill of indictment was filed against: William Gacharná Castro, Juan Carlos Cadavid Veléz, José William Parra Arroyave, Albert Narváez Mejía, who are investigated for aggravated criminal conspiracy and aggravated homicide.
