Argemiro Alberto Urrego Carmona was sentenced to 45 years and 2 months in prison by a judge hearing the case in Bucaramanga (Santander) by virtue of a plea bargain in which the defendant admitted his responsibility for the offense of aggravated femicide of two undergraduates, 21 and 22 years, respectively.

After three months of investigations, the Office of the Attorney General collected conclusive information to prove that the 27-year-old man perpetrated the double crime that took place on February 7th at the victims’ student residence located in neighborhood La Universidad in Bucaramanga.

The evidence revealed that Urrego Carmona lived in Bogotá and went to Santander to spend the weekend with one of the young women, with whom he had a romantic relationship. The couple and the other girl were spending time in a commercial establishment; however, the couple had a fight during the night, therefore, all of them returned to the university residence. In the building, the man attacked the two women with a sharp weapon until causing their death.
