The Office of the Attorney General filed an indictment against the alleged perpetrators of a crime regarding a couple of biologists, Natalia Jiménez and Rodrigo Monsalve, in the rural area of Buritaca (Magdalena), which took place in December 2019.
Due to this, four men accused of being the alleged perpetrators of the double murder were arrested. After considering the evidence presented by the Office of the Attorney General, a supervisory judge imposed a detention order with imprisonment against three of them last December. They were charged with aggravated murder simple kidnapping, illegal possession of firearms, and aggravated theft.
The Office of the Attorney General maintains the hypothesis which led to the arrest of the defendants and demonstrates an alleged case of robbery. The argument was corroborated in several statements.
On April 19, the prosecutor hearing the case attended virtual hearings in order to support the indictment, however, the proceeding was canceled since a part of the defense was not present. It is expected that the hearing is rescheduled.
