Former public servants under investigation for execution of contracts without compliance with legal requirements, ideological representation in document and misappropriation.

A magistrate of the Superior Court of Bogotá accepted the request made by the Office of the Attorney and ordered a detention measure with imprisonment against three former governors of Amazonas: Manuel Antonio Carebilla, Guillermo Marín Torres and César Antonio Lugo Morales.

The evidence gathered by the Office of the Attorney General shows that former officials executed contracts in three occasions in order to build two schools and a hospital in the Department of Amazonas. These works which are a priority for the community were not carried out.

The agreement was signed on February 15, 2016. Later, two extra agreements and two contractual addendums were approved.  These maneuvers that delayed the execution of the work allegedly violated the principles of transparency and planning.

For these facts, a delegate prosecutor before the Supreme Court of Justice charged the defendants with execution of contract without compliance with legal requirements, ideological representation in document and misappropriation.
