Twenty years ago, an urban project in rural area of Villavicencio, located on the road Acacías (Meta), was subject of a cautionary measure and was suspended due to the fact that the 80% of the 24 hectares in which public housing was going to be build was part of an area considered a forest reserve. Back then, 275 families who gave money to purchase new houses were recognized as victims.

Consequently, a civil judge appointed a manager to take care of the land and ensure that special provisions for ecological protection and preservation were met. However, this person allegedly divided the property, sold and rented lots, and signed agreements to carry out an urbanization regardless of the environmental consequences.
