The Circuit Court of Belén de Los Andaquíes (Caquetá) took into account the arguments made by the Office of the Attorney General and sentenced José Valbuena Collazos, José Gilberto Pedraza and Herson Garzón Botache to 52 months and 15 days in prison for environmental pollution and illegal exploitation of mining deposits and other minerals.
The events took place last August when people were arrested in flagranti by inter-institutional judicial police officers of CTI-Sijin and National Army since they were dredging the riverbed of several affluents that flow into Caquetá river, rural settlement La Cristalina, municipality of San José del Fragua.
