The Office of the Attorney General has evidence of manipulation and cooptation in public universities by illegal organizations linked to the National Liberation Army (in spanish Ejército de Liberación Nacional- ELN) and Farc´s residual structures to develop and distribute explosives and promote terrorist actions.
Today, the Attorney General, Néstor Humberto Martínez Neira, provided detailed information of the criminal strategy used by ELN and Residual Organized Armed Groups to infiltrate the main public universities of the country and to offer technical training to manufacture explosive devices and obtain the raw material for such purpose.
In a meeting with the Ministry of Education, the Attorney General will provide detailed information on judicial investigations that show how co-optation is carried out in public universities by these groups for the purpose of affecting citizen security and institutional order of the country by encouraging violent social protests which involved student population.
