Based on the evidence collected by the Office of the Attorney General, a judge imposed a prison sentence on María Liced Caicedo Peñuela, alias La Mona, and Sharly Lesly Marieth Medina Almario, alleged members of the criminal group known as Cuento Tres, involved in local drug trafficking in Neiva (Huila).

A prosecutor beloging to the so-called Estructura de Apoyo EDA (Support Structure Unit) charged them with aggravated conspiracy to commit a crime and trafficking, manufacturing, or possession of narcotics. The defendants did not plead guilty to the charges.

According to the investigation, since June 2024 until now, the defendants allegedly sold marijuana in small doses in neighborhoods such as: Los Mártires, Plazas Al Cid, Rojas Trujillo, and José Antonio Galán, ‘comunas’ 3 and 6.

It is believed that these women distributed the substance in the form of handmade cigarettes sold at different prices, mostly acquired by homeless individuals. They concealed the marijuana in plastic bags hidden in wooded areas to evade the authorities.

During a search warrant carried out by the National Police in Los Mártires neighborhood, both women were arrested. In addition, two cell phones and cash derived from drug sales were seized.
