At the request of the Office of the Attorney General, prison sentences were imposed for Miguel Ángel Silva Arroyo, Jeysson Armando Plazas Castillo, and Edwin Córdoba Cordón, for their alleged responsibility in the murders of two men that took place in separate incidents in Yopal (Casanare). 

Prosecutors belonging to the branch office in Casanare (Seccional Casanare) charged them, according to their individual responsibility, with aggravated homicide and homicide. None of them pleaded guilty to the charges. 

The Attorney General’s Office established that on November 2, Silva Arroyo and Plazas Castillo were involved in a fight with a merchant, whom they allegedly beat to death. 

These men were arrested by the National Police in Aguazul (Casanare) and Sogamoso (Boyacá). 

In another incident that took place on June 1 in the area known as Llano Lindo, Córdoba Cordón allegedly attacked a man during a fight multiple times with a bladed weapon, causing his death. 

The National Police arrested him at El Charte toll station, on the road from Yopal to Aguazul (Casanare).
