The Attorney General’s Office brought seven people allegedly involved in the murder of a man on April 25 before a judge in Tuluá (Valle del Cauca).
The people allegedly involved are: Juan David Patiño Ospina, Luis Norberto Cárdenas Jiménez, Juan Camilo Hurtado Hurtado, Andrés Julián Roldán Holguín, José Ángel Naspiral González, Luis Alberto Torres Giraldo and José Estiven Caicedo Castillo.
The facts under investigation are related to the discovery of body parts in La Playita area, on Tuluá river. According to the investigation, the victim was tortured and dismembered. Third parties were allegedly forced to transport the victim to the location where he was found.
The arrests were carried out on September 23 by the National Police. A prosecutor belonging to the branch office in Valle del Cauca (Seccional Valle del Cauca) charged them with homicide and kidnapping (both aggravated), constrain to commit a crime. None of them pleaded guilty to the charges.
The judge ruled that the alleged suspects must serve their detention in prison, with the exception of Cárdenas Jiménez who must serve home detention.
