At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, a judge ordered a prison sentence against Jairo Andrés Aguirre Vásquez and Néider Alberto Martínez González. They are allegedly responsible for attacking two men in a rural area of Quimbaya (Quindío).
A prosecutor of the branch office in Quindío (Seccional Quindio) charged them with aggravated homicide, attempted homicide, and manufacturing, trafficking, or possessing firearms, accessories, parts, or ammunition. The defendants did not plead guilty to the charges.
The facts took place on August 21st at a farm located in El Jazmín neighborhood in Quimbaya. The defendants entered the property and allegedly attacked a man with a sharp weapon, who died at the place. They also shot another man and was injured. They then fled on a motorcycle.
The National Police activated the so-called ‘plan candado’ (lockdown plan) at the access road to the area, where they arrested Aguirre Vásquez and Martínez González in flagrante delicto. They were identified by the alleged victim as the alleged attackers.
