Members of the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI in spanish) conducted an arrest warrant against a 69-year-old man in Centro neighborhood in Melgar. He was found guilty of murdering his wife in January 2021 in Icononzo (Tolima). 

On August 22, a judge issued a conviction against him for aggravated femicide and manufacturing, trafficking, or possessing firearms, accessories, parts, or ammunition. 

On the day of the incident, the victim was having breakfast at her house when her husband surprisingly shot her in the head without saying a word and then he attempted to kill himself with the same firearm. The man was arrested minutes later. 

The attacker was a fugitive, therefore, the judge hearing the case issued an arrest warrant against him. He will remain in prison awaiting a sentence.
