A judge approved the evidence presented by the Attorney General’s Office and imposed a prison sentence against four men and two women, who were allegedly arrested in flagrante with firearms and ammunition in the metropolitan area of Cúcuta.
The desicion involves Lizandro Jiménez Díaz, Wilfer Arbey Jaimes González, Doyan Alexander Pedroza Mosquera, Anderson Enrique Ovalles Meza, María Judith Vera Casadiego and Danann Shirley Vera Pérez who were charged with manufacturing, trafficking, or possessing firearms, accessories, parts, or ammunition, and manufacturing, trafficking, or possessing weapons, ammunition, accessories for the exclusive use of the armed forces, or explosives.
On August 19, under the coordination of a sectional prosecutor, the National Police arrested the suspects in flagrante during two home searches in Alonsito and El Porvenir neighborhoods of this city.
A submachine gun, two pistols, a revolver, a fragmentation grenade, two traumatic weapons, 117 cartridges of various calibers, accessories for firearms and nine cell phones were seized from the properties.
The detainees did not plead guilty to the charges that were brought by the Prosecutor’s Office and were sent to Modelo prison in Norte de Santander.
