The Attorney General’s Office prosecuted seven alleged members of the Clan del Golfo Organized Armed Group. They were arrested as result of 16 home searches carried out in municipalities of Risaralda such as Apía, Mistrató, Belén de Umbría, and Dosquebradas, as well as in Belalcázar (Caldas). 

A prosecutor appointed to the branch office in Risaralda (Seccional Risaralda) charged them, based on their individual responsibility, with criminal conspiracy to commit drug trafficking; aggravated homicide; attempted homicide; use of minors to commit crimes; manufacturing, trafficking, and possession of firearms or ammunition; and trafficking, manufacturing, or possession of narcotics. Only one person pleaded guilty to the charges. 

Prison sentences were issued for: Anyi Karina Salazar, Heiver Antonio Orozco Impata, Cristian Ríos López, Juan de Dios Velásquez Hernández, Jhon Eduar Montaño López; while Juan Felipe David Úsuga and Luis Alberto Giraldo Monroy were released but will remain linked to the investigation. 

The defendants allegedly arrived in the area, coming from the department of Antioquia to control drug sales in the above-mentioned municipalities. 

According to the evidence, they were also involved in three homicides committed on June 4 and a double homicide on July 19 in the rural area of Mistrató; as well as an attempted murder committed on May 23 of this year in the rural area of Génova. 

During the operations carried out by officers of the Technical Investigation Corps, the National Police, and the Army, a revolver, a traumatic weapon, a shotgun, six cartridges (caliber 38), and ammunition were seized.
