The Attorney General’s Office charged the former president of the municipal council of Lebrija (Santander) Alexander Porras Marín and former secretary Jennifer Paola Angarita Blanco for allegedly committing embezzlement.
Judicial police activities revealed that between July and August 2023, the then president of the municipal council allegedly took advantage of his position as public expenditure authority to allegedly misappropriate seven million pesos through two checks.
The investigation determined that Porras Marín’s secretary was responsible for cashing the checks.
None of the defendants pleaded guilty to the charges brought against them.
