At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, a judge imposed a prison sentence against five alleged members of ‘Los Galleros,’ who were allegedly involved in the illegal detention of two citizens to steal their money in Tibacuy and Agua de Dios (Cundinamarca).
A prosecutor appointed to the branch office in Cundinamarca (Seccional Cundinamarca) charged them with extortion for ransom, qualified theft, both aggravated offenses; and manufacturing, trafficking, or possession of firearms, accessories, parts, or ammunition. The defendants did not plead guilty to the charges.
The people allegedly involved are María del Rosario Gámez Camelo and Juan Carlos Rojas Casallas.

They also contacted his relatives to demand money in exchange for his release.
The other incident occurred on May 16, 2024, in Agua de Dios (Cundinamarca). There, a person who was hired to transport for the move from Bogotá was illegally retained. Through threats, they allegedly emptied his bank accounts, stole his vehicle, and demanded 8 million pesos for his release.
