The Attorney General’s Office brought William Guerrero Gil, 55, before justice for being, allegedly responsible for murdering five students and wounding two other people on January 24, 2021, in Guadalajara de Buga (Valle del Cauca).
A prosecutor appointed to the branch office in Valle del Cauca (Seccional Valle del Cauca) charged the defendant with homicide, attempted homicide, both aggravated, and illegal possession of weapons, after the suspect was arrested on May 12 by the Technical Investigation Unit (CTI), with the support of the National Police. This procedure took place in the rural area of San Pedro (Valle del Cauca).
The evidence indicates that Guerrero Gil facilitated the incursion of members of the Adán Izquierdo Residual Organized Armed Group (GAOR) into the farm where the victims were.
At the request of the Office of the Attorney General, the alleged suspect must serve a prison sentence.
The defendant did not plead guilty to the charges.
For these facts, the Office of the Attorney General has achieved, so far, the conviction of two individuals: Jhon Jaime Ramírez, alias JJ; and Diego Fernando Rivas Suleta, alias Simón, who allegedly participated in this homicide. Both were sentenced to 31.5 years in prison.
