The defendants would be responsible for two homicides, the theft of a motorcycle and multiple micro-trafficking activities.
The Attorney General’s Office brought 18 alleged members of the Los Mazamorreros criminal group before a judge. This criminal network is accused of multiple crimes committed in the so-called comunas 18 and 19 of Cali (Valle del Cauca).
A specialized prosecutor appointed to the branch office in Cali (Seccional Cali) charged them with conspiracy to commit crimes and homicide, both aggravated. Also qualified theft, drug trafficking and illegal possession of firearms, parts or ammunition.
According to the investigation, the illegal group committed crimes in the neighborhoods Prados del Sur, Los Chorros, la Reforma and the sector known as Las Veraneras or Los Escombros. The Office of the Attorney General determined that in these places, the criminal activities were planned and coordinated and premises were used to store firearms, narcotics and took advantage of the area to evade the control of the authorities.
The Attorney General’s Office established that Los Mazamorreros would be involved in the sale of narcotics in small doses in this part of the country. Likewise, they are considered responsible for the murders of an adult and a minor, which occurred on September 3, 2024 in the La Reforma sector.
These crimes occurred on January 5 at a place known as Las Veraneras. Likewise, they are accused of being responsible for the theft of a motorcycle from a saleswoman of arepas, which occurred on October 10, 2024, in the Los Chorros neighborhood.
In 14 home searches carried out by personnel from Sijín of the National Police, 18 arrest warrants were conducted.
During the proceedings, 10 cell phones, marijuana, cocaine hydrochloride, a firearm, a supplier, ammunition of different calibers, cash, two motorcycles and elements for preparing doses of narcotics were seized.
The judge approved the request made by the Office of the Attorney General and imposed a prison sentence on 18 alleged members of Los Mazamorreros.
They did not plead guilty to the charges brought by the Office of the Attorney General.
