A prosecutor appointed to Gaula of the branch office in Cundinamarca (Seccional Cundinamarca) brought Dilan Santiago Garavito Taborda, José Luis Mira and Jheffherson Andrey Chipatecua Cárdenas to justice. They are allegedly responsible for sending text messages to a merchant in Soacha (Cundinamarca) asking for the payment of more than 2,000,000 COP.
The facts took place last January when the individuals allegedly identified themselves as members of Clan del Golfo. If victims refused to pay, they were warned about the possibility that they and their family and workers would be killed, and the commercial premises would be burned.
The Office of the Attorney General charged the defendants, according to their individual responsibilities, with aggravated extortion and stolen vehicles.
The Attorney General’s Office and Gaula of Police in Cundinamarca, conducted a controlled delivery of money on the roads of Cundinamarca, and achieved the arrest of the defendants in flagrante delicto.
None pleaded guilty to the charges. At the request of the Office of the Attorney General, the three men were deprived of their liberty in a prison.
