The Attorney General’s Office brought four people who were allegedly involved in violent thefts that took place in different opportunities in Cartagena (Bolívar).
A prosecutor appointed to the Immediate Reaction Unit (Unidad de Reacción Inmediata URI in Spanish) charged them with qualified and aggravated theft. The defendants did not plead guilty to the charges and were sentenced to prison.
One of the facts took place on January 21st, in Fredonia neighborhood, where Wainer Alberto Cuadro Pitalúa apparently threatened and tried to suffocate his father, to obtain 500,000 COP. The victim gave the money and was helped by his neighbors. The young man was arrested by officers of the National Police.
Likewise, Deevid Stip Parra Fernández, Néstor Hernández Parra Martínez and Andrés Felipe Badillo Barrera were arrested since they were allegedly involved in the theft of a vehicle that occurred on January 12 in the so-called Centro Histórico.
The three men broke the windows of the vehicle and stole a computer, headphones and other personal items.
