The defendant, in the company of several people, allegedly participated in the disappearance of two young men aged 17 and 18.

The evidence obtained by the Attorney General’s Office allowed the identification and prosecution of Cristian Fernando Rivera Ocampo, alias Cristian or Cusco, allegedly responsible for the forced disappearance of two young men, 17 and 18, on October 12, 2023, in Cartago (Valle del Cauca).

This alleged member of the criminal group ‘Los Flacos’, in the company of other people, allegedly used minors to deceive the victims and take them to a sugar cane field; where, they were allegedly tied up by their hands and feet, physically attacked and thrown into the Cauca River. The corpses have not been recovered.

Therefore, a prosecutor appointed to the Sectional Office in Valle del Cauca charged alias Cusco with forced disappearance, aggravated conspiracy to commit crimes, use of minors to commit crimes, and trafficking, manufacturing or possession of narcotics. The defendant did not plead guilty to the charges and must serve a prison sentence.

Rivera Ocampo was arrested by the Technical Investigative Corps (CTI) and Sijín of the National Police, in a home search proceeding that was carried out in a house located at Pinares neighborhood, in Cartago. There, the authorities seized different quantities of narcotics.

Three other people were prosecuted and remain deprived of their liberty for the same facts.
