The joint work between CTI and the National Police allowed to clarify the violent act that occurred on November 3rd

At the request of a prosecutor from the Immediate Reaction Unit (URI) in Cartagena, a judge imposed a prison sentence against Jair Barrios Hernández, alias Yao; and Jesús Leonardo Domínguez Castro, alias El Pechiche, as allegedly responsible for the homicide of a merchant and a minor.

On November 3th, the defendants were riding a motorcycle in Providencia neighborhood and one of them shot several times at the man who was picking up his three daughters at school. The father died at the scene and one of his daughters,11-year-old, was taken to a health care center, but she arrived without vital signs.

The work of the CTI and National Police made it possible to obtain conclusive evidence to identify the aggressors in five days, who were arrested in proceedings carried out in Cartagena. In the investigation it was established that alias Yao, who apparently was at the passenger’s seat was in charge of activating the firearm; while alias El Pechiche was the driver.

The Prosecutor’s Office charged them with aggravated homicide; and manufacturing, trafficking, possession of firearms. They did not plead guilty.
