A prosecutor appointed to that sectional Office prosecuted Germurs Mieles Ballestas, 44 years old, for a murder that took place on November 29 on the island of San Andrés. The Office of the Attorney General charged him with homicide. He did not plead guilty to the charges.

The facts took place on Avenida Colón del archipelago, where the defendant, who was traveling on a motorcycle, apparently wounded a 40-year-old man with a sharp weapon, who was also driving a motorcycle.

It was demonstrated that the reason for the attack was that the victim, allegedly, threatened to kill the defendant’s son a few moments before. According to the investigation, these disputes date back to 2023.

The injured man was assisted by passers-by in the area, but died when he was transferred to a health center due to the severity of his injuries.

A day later, Mieles Ballestas turned himself in to the National Police, and he will be sent to Nueva Esperanza prison on the island at the request of the Office of the Attorney General.
