The investigation strategy against homicides in Risaralda allowed the Attorney General’s Office to prosecute two men who would be involved in murders that occurred in La Virginia and Dosquebradas.

The defendants were charged with homicide; qualified and aggravated theft; and use of minors to commit crimes.

Jhonier Alexander González Ruiz was prosecuted since on June 22, he was allegedly invited to party at a house in El Progreso neighborhood in La Virginia, where it is believed he stole money from a senior citizen. The victim was suffocated to death.

In another incident that took place on August 31, the Office of the Attorney General charged Jaider Carvajal Rojas with causing the death of the manager of a business located in Dosquebradas. The victim was allegedly attacked with a knife.

The Technical Investigative Corps (CTI) arrested González Ruiz on November 7 on a public street in La Virginia. For his part, Carvajal Rojas was arrested by Sijín officers from Espinal (Tolima) on November 6th.

Judges imposed prison sentences.
