At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, a judge imposed a prison sentence on Álvaro José Soto Pacheco, 33, and his partner, Deisy Johana Gómez Ocampo, 30. Both people were investigated for the crimes of homicide, illegal possession of self-defense firearms and qualified theft, all aggravated conduct.

According to the investigation, carried out by a prosecutor appointed to the so-called Grupo de Alertas Tempranas de Homicidio of the Immediate Reaction Unit (Unidad de Reacción Inmediata URI) Soto Pacheco and Gómez Ocampo would be responsible for the murder of a businessman, which took place on September 12 in the western area of Medellín.

Apparently, on the day of the facts, the woman took the victim to an apartment located at San Germán neighborhood by resorting to trickery. There, the man was attacked with a firearm. After the murder, the businessman’s corpse was transported in his own vehicle to a deserted area to the small town known as San Cristóbal.

Information in the Office of the Attorney General’s hands show that a watch, a high-end cell phone and several pieces of jewelry were stolen from the victim. Their value would exceed 12 million COP.

Three days after the crime, the corpse was found tied up by the hands and feet, in bags. The suspects were arrested by Sijin of the National Police.

None of the defendants pleaded guilty to the charges brought against them.
