- The victim was reported missing on September 29th. The corpse was found in a sugarcane field 18 days later
- The man pleaded guilty to aggravated femicide, aggravated simple kidnapping, aggravated simple kidnapping with attempt, and concealment, alteration and destruction of evidence.
The investigative work carried out by the Attorney General’s Office, within the framework of a differential gender approach; and a joint work with the National Police allowed to collect evidence about the responsibility of Brayan Snaither Campo Pillimué, 32, in the crime of a 12-year-old girl and the concealment of her corpse on September 29, in Candelaria (Valle del Cauca).
In this regard, a prosecutor appointed to the Sectional Office in Cali brought him before a judge in Palmira (Valle del Cauca), and charged him with aggravated femicide, aggravated simple kidnapping, aggravated simple kidnapping with attempt; and concealment, alteration and destruction of evidence.
The defendant freely and voluntarily pleaded guilty to the charges and must serve a prison sentence.
The judicial police proceedings allowed to establish that the victim left her grandparents’ house to pick up a shampoo for her pet at her place of residence and when passing in front of a food and pet supplies store, which belonged to Campo Pillimué, she was intercepted by him and forced her to enter the premises under the assumption that he would give her a collar.
Later, the man pulled down the store’s roller shutter and hit her on the head, causing her death. Hours later, he wrapped the corpse in sacks and took it on a motorcycle to sugarcane fields located on the road that leads from Candelaria to Florida (Valle del Cauca).
During the course of the investigation it was learned that, minutes before the murder of the 12-year-old girl, the defendants allegedly tried to kidnap another minor, also 12 years old, who managed to escape from the scene.
With this information and evidence, search warrants were ordered to be conducted at the store and at Campo Pillimué’s house. There, the evidence that would link him to the crime was found. In this regard, he was arrested on October 16 by SIJIN officers of the Metropolitan Police in Cali.
The next day, the victim’s corpse was found by forensic experts. The National Institute of Legal Medicine established his full identity and stated that the corpse had been incinerated at the place where it was found.
