The evidence presented by the Attorney General’s Office allowed the prosecution of eight alleged members of the criminal group known as Los Castas, who would be involved in drug dealing downtown ​​Montería (Córdoba).

The people involved are Luis Andrés Ballesteros González, Danna Victoria Ortega González, Luis Carlos Ballesteros Hernández, Jorge Luis Padrón Díaz, Luis Mateo Padrón Díaz, Deiby José González Flórez, César Andrés Guerrero Quintana and Sebastián Andrés Ortega González, who were charged by a prosecutor of the so called Estructura de Apoyo (EDA) as alleged responsible for the crime of trafficking, manufacture or possession of narcotics.

According to the investigation, the defendants would be selling narcotics in Montería, in which, in addition to clearly defining roles, they set schedules of between 8 and 12 hours to commit crimes. These illegal actions were allegedly committed since August 2023.

The defendants were arrested on October 3 by police officers during search warrant operations carried out in Nariño, El Níspero, El Dorado and Edmundo López neighborhoods, among others.

A judge imposed a prison sentence on Ballesteros González, Ballesteros Hernández, Padrón Díaz and Ortega González. For his part, González Flórez must serve home detention. The other defendants will continue linked to the investigation.
