At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, a judge imposed a prison sentence on Cristian Camilo Martínez Villa, 25 years old, allegedly involved in the death of a 71-year-old woman. The victim’s corpse appeared on September 3 in Los Micos area, in the municipality of Encino, Santander.
According to the investigation, the victim was kidnapped on August 27 by armed men who arrived at her home located in Carillo area of the municipality of Charalá. The woman was in the company of her husband, who was intimidated while she was taken to an unknown destination. The Office of the Attorney General charged the defendant with aggravated kidnapping for extortion purposes, qualified theft and aggravated homicide. None of them pleaded guilty to the charges.
During her captivity, the woman’s family was extorted for a millionaire sum in exchange for the victim’s release.
Martínez Villa was arrested during an operation carried out by the Office of the Attorney General and the National Police in the municipality of Dos Quebradas (Risaralda).
