At the request of a prosecutor appointed to the so-called Unidad de Reacción Inmediata (Immediate Reaction Unit) of the Sectional Office in Casanare, a judge imposed a prison sentence against Carlos Andrés Ramírez and Jeison Fabián Rodríguez Rodríguez, as possible responsible for the crime of drug trafficking.

Both men were arrested in flagrante on September 6th when they tried to evade, on a motorcycle, a National Police checkpoint in a central sector of Yopal.

According to the evidence, when they were intercepted by the authorities, the defendants tried to get rid of the package they were transporting. The inspection of the latter allowed to establish that it contained 26.5 kilos of marijuana that, it is believed, were going to be distributed under the modality of petty drug dealing.

The arrested people did not plead guilty to the charges brought against them. The measure of deprivation of liberty became final.
