The victim also worked as the principal of an ethno-educational institution.

At the request of the Office of the Attorney General, a judge imposed a prison sentence on Luis Ángel Fernández Paz, alias Renso, for aggravated homicide and manufacture, trafficking, possession of firearms.

The facts took place on August 2nd in a sector of El Carmen neighborhood in Maicao (La Guajira) in which Fernández Paz apparently shot Jader Enrique Escobar Martínez, 45, several times and died at the place.

According to the information that was gathered by the Office of the Attorney General,  the defendant fled on a motorcycle after committing the murder. By virtue of a court order, the National Police arrested alias Renso on August 18 in Uribia (La Guajira).
