At the request of the Attorney General’s Office, a judge imposed a prison sentence against Edith Johanna Soto Fajardo, 41, for allegedly extorting restaurant and fast food owners in Neiva (Huila).

The defendant, apparently, during 2024 asked for money on behalf of Farc dissidents in which she claimed to be their financial leader. For these acts, the Prosecutor’s Office charged her with attempted aggravated extortion.

According to the investigation, the defendant used phone calls and messages to inform the victims about the payments that reached up to 2 million COP. The refusal could lead to attacks against the victims, their families and their businesses.

CTI officers, in coordination with Gaula of Army, arrested Soto Fajardo at the so-called neighborhood Bosques de San Luis de Neiva when she was about to receive 700,000, allegedly from an extortion.

The defendant did not plead guilty to the charges.
