Mateo Tavera Pineda allegedly entered a farm with other armed men and shot at the occupants.

The Attorney General’s Office brought Mateo Tavera Pineda before a judge for the murder of three people on February 14, 2023, on a farm in the Buenavista area, in Ciudad Bolívar (Antioquia).

For these facts, a prosecutor from the so-called Dirección de Apoyo Territorial charged Tavera Pineda with aggravated homicide, aggravated conspiracy to commit crimes; and manufacture, trafficking or possession of weapons, ammunition for restricted use, for the exclusive use of the Armed Forces or explosives. He did not plead guilty to the charges.

The defendant will remain deprived of his liberty. Currently, he remains in prison for his alleged participation in another collective homicide that took place in a commercial establishment in Ciudad Bolívar (Antioquia), on January 28, 2023. For this incident he is awaiting a verdict.
